Hometown is a free Nigerian life game you play in your browser. You start with small money in your home state and build your life from there, alongside real players.
Follow the 'Make your first money' card at the top of the screen. It walks you through four quick steps that each pay โฆ5,000. After that, open your ๐ฑ Phone from the bar at the bottom of the screen and look around the apps.
Top left: your level ring, your money (tap + to top up) and the town day and time. Top right: ๐ daily gift, To do and your mood face. Bottom bar: Decorate, Home, Phone, Map, Chat and More. A yellow button above the bar shows the main thing you can do where you are standing, like going inside or working.
Tap anywhere on the map to walk there. For far places, tap the place and choose okada, keke, danfo, your own car or the metro. Each has a different price and speed. With a car you can also drive yourself with the ๐ button.
Guests lose everything if their browser is cleared. Open Settings and tap 'Account: save, log in or log out', then add your email and a password. Saving is free and pays โฆ50,000.
Your phone holds all the apps: Town for news and chat, Explore for hunts and races, Dispatch and Rides for work, Bank, VIP and more. Apps are grouped into folders like Work, Money and Fun.
Tap โ๏ธ Make it yours at the top right. Switch between Men and Women, browse looks by Traditional, Smart, Casual, Work, Party, Sport and Elders (agbada with fila, senator kaftans, iro and buba with gele, owambe gowns, office wear, football kits and more), tap one to see it on your character, then Save my look.
Under โญ Special in Make it yours you can buy a look for life with real money: Oba, Big Boss, Afrobeats Star, Owambe Queen, Eyo Masquerade, Police Officer and Road Safety Marshal. Townspeople never wear them, and people react when you walk past: they bow and hail Kabiyesi, call you Chairman or scream for a selfie.
Yes. Quick-start players get a name like 'User 12345'. Tap โ๏ธ Make it yours and set your name so friends can find you. Only named players can appear in the daily Chronicle story.
A town day lasts about 36 real minutes, so you will see sunrise, rush hour and night many times in one sitting. Shops, clubs and events follow the town clock.
